Organizations must prioritize their strategic and tactical security requirements concerning Internet of Things (IoT) and adopt a proactive approach. This entails implementing an agnostic model that guarantees the utmost security posture. Security of IoT devices plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and dependable operation of interconnected systems. It is of utmost importance to implement robust security controls based on the Zero Tolerance framework to safeguard data integrity, user privacy, and overall system stability.

Thank you very much for your talk. While all those measures are undoubtable important, it's somewhat unfeasable for small companies. There must be support for the whole life cycle of the product, especially software wise. Vulnerabilities come up now and then, even if you use a commercial product. I wonder, how this could be done, even certified products are affected. How would you tackle the problem? Also security means encryption everywhere, this is really hard to accomplish on a small IoT device, especially true in the AI &ML space.

Hi Thomas,
Great feedback. And I agree totally. That is why prevention first approach with embedded security on the device is key. To harden it and make it zero day proof. This lifts the burden of re-certification. For this approach you need at least 1 MB of storage and RAM. If the device is really small this not possible of course. In this scenario Security Gateways using AI with ML and DL (Deep Learning) can be used. AI is enhancing trust and if we combine this with Industry 4.0, which is characterized by the integration of advanced technologies like big data analytics and cloud computing. This setup provides real-time visibility and transparency, across the entire process, enabling IoT environments to optimize their daily operation, reduce costs and improve productivity.
